About Us
Don & Mia Henderson
The Dog Tutor Team

My Beginnings and Success Story
It started with ducklings in the tub and chicks in a crate. Rabbits in our shed and tadpoles, frogs in our pond. I attended to these little creatures early on and knew being a caretaker of animals would hold a special place for me during my lifetime.
When I was a young teenager our house was robbed and our security level was compromised. I came home from school one day to find my father had purchased a German Shepherd and this started my strong relationship with canines. I knew I wanted to be around dogs more so I volunteered some time at local shelters and went to Canine Training School.
I have been in the Pet Industry for over 30 years and my greatest satisfaction has been The Dog Tutor helping clients with the needs they have for their pets and giving me self-satisfaction that I have helped someone out and I get to be around animals doing what I love. It's a great feeling from the start to the end of my work days knowing I made a difference.

Socializing Your Dog

Socializing Your Dog
Just like with humans, socialization for your dog is very important. Without proper socialization, daily interactions with other dogs on walks, at the vet or pet store, and in your home, can be stressful instead of enjoyable. Socialization is the key to a well-behaved dog and a well-behaved dog brings happiness to everyone they meet.
